Business Teacher
Full-Time Probationary Appointment – Begins February 1, 2026
The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking an innovative and student-centered Business Teacher to serve students in grades 6–12 at both the Voorheesville Middle School and Clayton A. Bouton High School. The ideal candidate will engage students in foundational business concepts, financial literacy, digital literacy, and career exploration while supporting the district’s ongoing development of Work-Based Learning and career readiness pathways.
Salary/Pay Scale
Commensurate with experience; per VTA contract
Position Overview
The successful candidate will teach a combination of middle school career exploration and business foundations courses, as well as high school business electives. This position plays a key role in expanding the district’s business and career education offerings, supporting students as they develop the knowledge, skills, and employability competencies needed for future success.
Instruction may include areas such as:
- Middle school career exploration, digital citizenship, and introductory business concepts
- High school courses such as Accounting, Business Law, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Personal Financial Literacy
- Integration of NYS Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) standards
- Support for Work-Based Learning experiences, CEIP, and partnerships with community or regional employers
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction aligned to NYS Business Education and CDOS learning standards
- Engage students through project-based learning, real-world applications, and authentic assessments
- Embed career readiness skills such as communication, collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, and digital fluency
- Support or help develop Work-Based Learning and career exploration opportunities for students
- Collaborate with colleagues to build a cohesive 6–12 business curriculum
- Maintain effective classroom management, grading, and communication practices
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and district initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and procedures
