Mathematics Teacher – Grade 8
The Voorheesville Central School District is seeking a collaborative, student-centered Grade 8 Mathematics Teacher for the Middle School beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, probationary position.
The successful candidate will engage students in meaningful mathematics instruction that builds conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence. The teacher will work as part of a professional team to support the academic and social-emotional growth of all learners.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Voorheesville Teachers Association contract.
The successful candidate will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Grade 8 Mathematics and Algebra.
- Implement the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards.
Utilize effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. - Design lessons that promote critical thinking, perseverance, and real-world application.
- Use assessment data to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment.
- Integrate instructional technology to enhance learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and student success.
- Support the District’s commitment to equity and high expectations for all students.
