Job Description

Voorheesville Elementary School anticipates a full-time probationary position available for a Special Education Teacher. The Special Education Teacher’s duties will include providing individualized instruction for students with special needs in the areas of reading, writing and math in addition to providing support to classroom staff in the areas of program modifications and inclusion.  Salary and benefits are stated in the VTA contract. Position is anticipated to begin September 1, 2026.

General Duties
1. Provide support to special education students.
2. Work closely with teaching assistants and related service providers to ensure students
maximum success.
3. Develop and Implement IEPs
4. Progress monitor individual goals

Job Qualifications

1. Fully Certified Special Education Teacher in New York State, Birth-21 Preferred
2. Certified in Literacy or Reading preferred.
3. Experience with Special Class, Resource Room and Consultant Teaching models
4. Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.
5. Previous school experience preferred.
6. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
