 Occupational Therapist K-12 (0.4)

 

 

 

The Position

The Voorheesville Central School District has a 0.4 Occupational Therapist K-12 probationary position beginning September 1, 2026. The Occupational Therapist will be an integral part of the school community addressing the preventative, developmental and remedial needs of students. The Occupational Therapist will provide individual and group therapy, conduct assessments and work closely with staff to support students’ fine, visual and sensory motor needs across settings.  Salary per VTA contract.

Responsibilities

  1.   To work effectively with students, teachers and parents in a collaborative, problem resolving manner.

  2.   Maintain appropriate records and reports.

  3.   Carry out assessment and evaluation procedures for students as requested.

  4.   Plan and develop occupational therapeutic intervention goals that are educationally relevant

  5.   Provide written reports to parents

  6.   Attend CSE meeting and other school meetings when appropriate.

  7.   Provide in-service education and professional development for staff as requested.

  8.   Provide regular consultation with educational teams regarding student needs, professional needs, and system needs in order for the system to achieve its goals and objectives.

Job Qualifications

  1.   Fully certified in New York State as a Registered Occupational Therapist.

  2.   Experience at the elementary and secondary level.

  3.   Ability to work effectively with students of all grade levels.

  4.   Experience with interpreting IEP goals, maintaining data and writing medicaid notes.

  5.   Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.

  6.   Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

  7.   Excellent college record and excellent references.

  8.   Dedicated to teaching and to students.
