Job Description

The Voorheesville Central School District has one 10-month full-time position for a School Nurse to provide nursing care at the Middle School / High School campus. Salary and benefits per VTA contract.

General Duties include the following, but are not limited to such:

1. Attend to first aid needs of students and staff
2. Communicate with parents and staff regarding health needs and concerns.
3. Administer medication (as ordered by physician) according to regulations and policy, if needed.
4. Complete and file accident/incident reports as appropriate.
5. Keep and maintain complete and accurate health records on all students.
6. Keep appropriate inventory of supplies and materials and requisition such.
7. Maintain a list of eligible athletes for each sport.

 

Job Qualifications

1. Registered Nurse.
2. Strong background in school nursing.

    3.  Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.

    4.  Good college record and excellent references.

    5.  Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

    6.  Experience working with school age children a plus.
