    Special Education Summer Program

                     Part-Time Temporary 15 hours per week

 

The Position

The Voorheesville Central School District has four part-time, temporary positions for Teaching Assistants to provide support to special education students in the K-6 summer special education setting. The Teaching Assistants will work closely with the Special Education Teachers and other related service providers. The hours will be 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., Monday - Friday mornings from July 6 through August 14, 2026. Salary and benefits per UEV contract.

General Duties

1. Provide support to special education students, including support with ADLs
2. Assist Special Education Teachers and related service providers in the implementation of the students’ individual education plans. 

 

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

1. Fully certified as a Teaching Assistant in New York State.
2. Must work well with children in the area of elementary education.
3. Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.
4. Previous school experience preferred.
5. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
6. Experience working with students with special needs strongly preferred.
