The Voorheesville Central School District has a full time probationary position for a Building Maintenance Worker at the Elementary School.  This is semi-skilled work involving responsibility for independently performing variety of mechanical and other building maintenance tasks.

General Duties

1. Work as Maintenance Worker includes performing semi-skilled work as needed.  Examples of work include, but are not limited to:  perform semi-skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical or painting operations; help install and repair wiring systems and electric fixtures and equipment; repair windows, doors, floors; interior and exterior painting; help to install and repair general plumbing equipment; operates trucks and other motorized equipment. Experience in sports field maintenance, snow removal and lawn care beneficial.
2. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
3. Hours:  Generally M-F (6:00a.m.-2:30p.m.), may work occasional weekends, as needed.

The Voorheesville Central School District has a full-time probationary Teaching Assistant position available at the Elementary School. The Teaching Assistant works closely with the classroom and the Special Education Teachers. The salary and benefits are as noted in the current UEV contract.

General Duties

1. Provide support and supervision to special education students, including support with ADLs.
2. Assist Special Education Teachers and related service providers in the implementation of the students’ individual education plans.
3. Revising lesson material with students individually or in small groups.
4. Monitor and assist students in all aspects of the school day.
5. Ensuring the classroom environment is safe and clean.

The Voorheesville Central School District has a current opening for a Custodial Worker. This position is 8 hours/day; may include Saturdays as needed. The duties of a Custodial Worker include routine cleaning, semi-skilled maintenance tasks, and related work as required.  The position will be under the supervision of the Custodial Work Supervisor II.  Salary and benefits are as stated in the UEV contract.

Examples of Custodial Worker duties include, but are not limited to:

Sweeps, mops and waxes floors

Washes walls, windows and blackboards

Cleans and mops lavatories and locker rooms

Assists with snow removal

Replaces light bulbs, towels, toilet tissue, soap and other supplies

Empties wastebaskets and disposes of rubbish

Makes minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and window shades, locks, faucets,    

heating system and other equipment

Receives, moves and stores incoming school supplies

Turns off lights and locks doors

Performs a variety of errands and related custodial duties as needed  

Voorheesville Central School District is seeking Substitute Teacher Aides for the District. Responsibilities typically include assisting in the cafeteria during lunch periods, recess, and other duties assigned by the principal. May also provide support to teachers in the classroom where needed. This individual will work under the immediate supervision of the Building Principal.
